Max Verstappen won a thrilling wet Sao Paulo Grand Prix from 17th on the grid to move to the brink of a fourth successive world championship, as title rival Lando Norris faltered from pole position.
Verstappen produced a sublime display of driving to surge through the field during a chaotic contest, which featured a red flag and two Safety Car interruptions, ending a 10-race winless streak that stretched back to June’s Spanish Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen couldn’t have asked for a much more emphatic way to end a Formula 1 win drought stretching back more than four months than his outstanding drive to victory in a wet Brazilian Grand Prix.

And the fact his nearest points challenger Lando Norris went from pole to sixth – with an investigation still looming over him – surely means the title fight is fading. One thing is sure, Max has been a stronger driver over the season, while Lando lacked of consistency and since the incredible win in Miami onwards too many mistakes were maken that became bigger with the McLaren being ofter the fastest car of the grid.

But in racing nothing is over till it is mathematically excluded and McLaren will give its best nest GP in Las Vegas.
